Sean was raised with humble roots in the rural northwest Iowa town of Rock Rapids, where he and his family call home today.

Sean attended the University of Iowa’s Henry B. Tippie College of Business, where he received a B.B.A. in Entrepreneurial Management. He embraces being a lifelong learner, which is demonstrated through his completion of graduate-level coursework in Management and Human Resources. Additionally, he has earned the Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) accreditation from the Society of Human Resources Management.

Professionally, Sean has had the privilege of serving in leadership roles for a variety of private and publicly-traded companies in the Recruiting, Manufacturing, and Biotechnology industries. Having worked on “both sides of the desk” of the recruiting experience, he understands the challenges Executives and HR Professionals face in finding talent. Through DLA Sean is able to leverage his relatable experience and unique expertise to better assist clients with their own resourcing needs.

Outside of his professional life, Sean is married to his high school sweetheart, Whitney. Together they raise their two children, Ryder and Evora. A devout Christian, he and his family are actively engaged in their local faith community. He plays drums for the Ransom Church worship band and attends multiple faith-based small groups locally. Sean’s caring nature and hard-working attitude are evident in both his personal and professional life, leading his family and Dakota Legacy Advisors with integrity and unwavering commitment.

Born and raised in the heart of South Dakota, Jake's formative years were shaped by the values of hard work and community, which continue to drive his professional endeavors today.

Jake attended the University of Sioux Falls, where he majored in Elementary Education. During his time at the university, he also played linebacker for the University of Sioux Falls football team, showcasing his dedication, teamwork, and leadership—qualities that have seamlessly transitioned into his professional career.

With over 15 years of extensive experience in Sales, Recruiting, and Human Resources, Jake has honed his skills in identifying and nurturing talent, building strong client relationships, and leading teams to success. His expertise and commitment have positioned Dakota Legacy Advisors as a trusted partner for organizations seeking top-tier talent and strategic HR solutions.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jacob is a devoted family man. He is happily married to the love of his life, Sondrae Spade, and is the proud father of three amazing children (Arianna, Nolan, and Hadley). For Jake, family is paramount, and he strives to balance his career with his dedication to creating a loving and supportive home environment. His passion for helping others extends beyond his work, reflecting his core belief in the importance of community and connection.

Talent Advisor

Jacob has always had a passion for taking care of people, prompting him to pursue a client-facing career. He followed his Dutch roots to Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he achieved a B.S. in Nursing with honors. He went on to serve 4 years as an RN in the ICU for Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls, SD.

Jacob's top priority is taking care of his wife, daughter, and upcoming little one expected in December 2024. Partnering with DLA has enabled him to serve families like his by connecting them to work they love as well as strengthen businesses in search of highly talented individuals.

Working in a chronic nursing shortage, he knows firsthand the importance of competent, hard-working staff to the success of a business. In his experience, incredible talent drives incredible results. His sharpened people skills, diligence, and reliability foster both quick rapport with talented candidates and genuine follow through with client companies, all of which have made him a valuable asset to the DLA team.

In his free time, Jacob enjoys lifting weights, fixing up his home and apartment building, playing board games, and reading solid books. He is heavily involved in his church body at Emmaus Road and is proud to bring God glory by faithfully serving DLA and the businesses and families he encounters every day.
